WHERE EXACTLY ARE THESE INTERNAL ORGANS, ANYWAY?

I usually tell my patients to divide the abdomen into four quadrants, which will help them to describe their symptoms more accurately to the doctor. Using a cross, make a vertical line from the belly button up to below the diaphragm. Cross this line with a horizontal line at the belly button.

On your right side, above the horizontal line, is the upper right quadrant, which includes the liver, gallbladder, and part of the intestines. The upper left quadrant includes part of the large intestine and the spleen. Your stomach lies within the space of both upper quadrants. Your left lower quadrant includes the intestines, and, in a woman, the left ovary. The right lower quadrant contains the lower large intestine and the right ovary. The bladder and the uterus lie within both of the lower quadrants. The kidneys are found in all four quadrants toward the back of the body.
